Ive come to the conclusion that im going to look sticky and about three months pregnant for the nextfour weeks. Bummer. Apparently modest skirts and hot humidity without a/c anywhere isnt good for my cameraface. Also… Kalalu house is going to be grreat. From what ive heard, we have a bat, two fleas who are to be fumigated, and no drainy place to work with our bucket showers. So… Apparently most just forgo the shower until we travel on the weekend. Otherwise, africa has been supergorgeous. Best breeze ever. We literally stood by the river nile at its source and felt the breeze for a full hour. Then we went to the place where a bit of ghandis ashes we placed. Exciting. Then we wandered around town and i bought a legit painting from a studio there. Its cost me about $15 us. Gotta love exhange rates. Then we tried african tea. BEST. THING. EVER. Its spiced black tea with steamed milk and cinnamon. Im officially obsessed with the hot black tea and milk thing. Also… Huge indian population. Fun history trivia: uganda was an english colony and they usually brought indians into these colonies to run admistrative and military things because there are so many more indians than english. Half the buildings in town are old and have the old company titles carved into the stone at the top. All of those company names are indian, and a good chunk of the stores cater to indians by selling saris and whatnot. Also… Oodles of indian food. YES. chapati, tea, white rice.. All the good things ever.
Im pretty sure the large majority of this post is about food. My inner fat kid is proud.
Toodles.

So my group of interns has landed! Collectively weve probably brought a good 600 lbs of stuff with us including mountains of snacks, lady business, rubber gloves and insect repellant. We also ( and by we i mean i) jammed out to kacee and jojo on the cabride to our hotel. Ugandan radio is reminiscent of early 90s r&b stuff…. So get ready uganda. My inner mariah is coming out.
Anywhoo.. From now on my posts will acatually have interesting stuff in them. GET EXCITED!

So this is my first venture into blogging and it is just as much to tell people about my African adventures as it is to keep track of what happens each day and can report on my projects. Anywho… Im still in the us right now, i just thought id get a headstart on this mess.

Enjoy!
